According to the system, there are three steps in USMLE :
1. After completion of MD-2.
2. Either During or after MD-4. Two branches (1) C.S.[Clinical Skills] &(2) C.K.[Clinical Knowledge]
3. Starting of Residency Program in Hospital that has chosen you.
So after the 12th standard, you will be given 3 to 4 years for the undergraduate program in which Biology would be the major one. Then you will be given four years for your MD program and then you will be giving a minimum of 3 years for USMLE, total of ten years will be dedicated for you to get a license in practice in the United States and get up to PG degree program.
MD course in USA is very different as compared to take admission in any other country and there are various examinations to be cleared for getting admission. USMLE itself is a highly affiliated program and of course, it is also tough.
According to specialization, the residency program can be up to eight years as well. It depends on what is the specialization that you have chosen and your opportunity to go for. Minimum three years would be given for the residency program.
During a residency program, you will be getting approximately 2 lacks INR per month. The salary of a doctor in the United States is approximately 1 to 2 crore INR per month depending on the residency.
